When you begin to Learn Golf:
The biggest mistake made by those wanting to learn golf is to rush out and purchase the first set of pristine and usually expensive golf clubs. Very nice to look at but you need to remember that golf equipment nowadays caters for all golfing types and abilities.
If you feel you want your own clubs get a half set.

A half set of clubs often just comprises five irons and perhaps two woods and a putter. Usually the irons are the odd numbers 3,5,7,9 and wedge. These clubs are more than enough for you to start your learning journey.. Sometimes a 12 piece set is a good starting point and be cheaply bought while your learn to play golf, to be replaced with a good quality golf set when your early learning days are over.
Most Driving Ranges will have clubs for hire, so you can try out a few
different ones. The shortest nine iron or a wedge are the best clubs for a
learner to start with.
